Tommy was re-elected Secretary-Treasurer of the National Rural Letter Carriers’ Association at the 118th National Convention in Reno, Nevada on Friday, August 30, 2024. Born and raised in Madison Heights, VA, Tommy began his postal career as a Rural Carrier Associate (RCA) in Lynchburg, VA on March 18, 1995, and became a Regular Carrier on June 1, 2001, with a collateral duty of ad-hoc Academy Instructor. He currently carries a 46K route in Smithfield, VA. He is no stranger to Union service. He has served as a Local unit President, Local Steward, Area Steward, Eastern States Conference Secretary-Treasurer, State Executive Committeeman and, for 10 years, State Secretary-Treasurer of Virginia. For 9 years, he served in the United States Navy where he achieved the rank of Logistics Specialist First Class. Tommy brings an extensive administrative portfolio to the position, having served on the Appeals Committee, Database Committee, Training, Development and Compliance (TDC) Committee, and was Chairman of the of the Credentials and Ballot Ratification Committees. In addition, he served as the database analyst for the Membership Department.
